[Here list, and write a short explanation of the different materials and technology tools you are using in your lessons. Provide an explanation of what the students will be doing with these tools and why they are relevant or good for learning the topic or skills you want to teach. ]

Lesson 1
Materials
Explanations
Computer with Internet access
Each student will use a computer with Internet access, either in a computer lab or through a laptop cart. Computer use and Internet access are relevant to lessons that incorporate digial media and draw information from the web.
Graphic organizer
Students will use the following graphic organizer in the event Dipity fails to load, or the Internet is not accessible.

In case students cannot access the nutrient facts website, the teacher will have a copy of a handout with 10 predetermined food labels so students can still learn about calculating calories.
Dipity
Dipity is an interactive timeline creator that students will use to record their food consumption over a period of time. Dipity, by allowing users to incorporate text, images, and video, supports different types of learners. Students will have the discretion to add appropriate images and descriptions to their personal food journals.
Document camera
In the event the projector or computer is out of order, the teacher will have a print version of their power point and use the document camera to display the lecture, or will write the vocabulary words on the board and describe them.
Promethean Board
The teacher will use the board to display the power point for day 1, and the librarian will use the board to demonstrate how to properly search the nutrient facts website.

Lesson 2
Materials
Explanations
Computer with Internet access
Each student will use a computer with Internet access, either in a computer lab or through a laptop cart. Computer use and Internet access are relevant to lessons that incorporate digial media and draw information from the web.
Dipity
Dipity is relevant to this lesson in which Teacher will present his/her food timeline that was used to record his or her food choices. Sharing Teacher's Dipity with the class will facilitate students' understanding of what is expected of their personal eating plan assignment. In the case that the Dipity timeline fails to load, Teacher will present the alternate version created in PowerPoint.
Whiteboard and markers
On the whiteboard, using markers, Teacher will draw three large circles that resemble plates. Students will fill in the plates by suggesting a food item that will go into one of the circles. This exercise prepares students for their personal eating assignment for which they have to fill in their own paper plates with food choices. Working with the whiteboard ensures visibility.
Choose My Plate
This website will remind students of the five food groups and nutritional information they have learned previously as they engage in a quick discussion at the beginning of the lesson.
Reflection papers
Reflection papers will prepare students for their personal eating assignment by allowing them time in class to think about their food journal assignment.
Paper plates
Using paper plates to design one's personal eating plan will allow students to visualize their foods on plates.

Lesson 3
Materials
Explanations
Computer with Internet access
Each student will use a computer with Internet access, either in a computer lab or through a laptop cart. Computer use and Internet access are relevant to lessons that incorporate digial media and draw information from the web.
imagechef
imagechef will be used to show students one example of how information can be displayed in a visual way. Though imagechef will not be the focus of the lesson, it is used to engage students in how online tools can be used to communicate ideas. In the case that the wordcloud site does not work, students will use just use their post-it notes to create a wordcloud on a whiteboard or the wall of a classroom.
piZap
piZap is a graphic tool that the students will use to create collages about food culture and health in an assigned country. This tool was chosen to allow students to easily integrate text and images in a visually appealing format. The product will be similar to an infographic, but piZap was chosen so students would not be overwhelmed with how to present data, but focusing on grouping information and images in one collective visual. Students will be populating their collage from information they record in a graphic organizers. If students cannot access piZap, they will instead complete the collages by drawing and using magazines provided by the teacher to create their collages.
Magazines and catalogs
A variety of magazines and catalogs with food from different countries and cultures will be available to prepare the collages. A word cloud will be hand-drawn by students (for their individual eating plans) and the teacher on large sheets of paper with markers. Sample work, prepared by the teachers and/or librarian prior to beginning these lessons, using the electronic resources will be displayed for instructional and inspirational purposes.
Graphic organizer
A graphic organizer will also be used for the final lesson to help organize thoughts and resources on the food from other countries.
Subscription databases
Encyclopedia Britannica or World Book subscription databases (or other, appropriate subscription database or research website) will be used to help students gather information about their countries. Electronic resources are relevant because they are available resources that provide timely and vetted information.
Post-it notes
Post-it notes are easy to use and support group discussion activities.
